From SirMoony,
For the people who are living in the US, we all know that Congress passed a bill that clawed back $1.1 billion of federal funding away from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. It even caused PBS and NPR stations to struggle a bit as well due to the impact of the funding being taken away. But don't let that trick you into thinking that we completely lost the battle because our chances to fight aren't over.
So, have you ever heard of Protect My Publc Media? It's a website that is made specifically to constantly fight for the entirety of public television and public radio stations to be on the air no matter what happens, especially when it comes to fighting for federal funding to keep everything alive. So, if you go to the website in question, then you would be able to send an email to Congress to encourage them to restore the $1.1 billion in federal funding and give all of the money to CPB again. As I said, the battle isn't completely over, but the earlier that we respond to Congress about the situation at hand, the better chances that we have that they're gonna restore the federal funding for CPB so they can have more than enough money to completely sustain themselves without the need to completely shut their doors in January 2026. The battle isn't over and this is our chance to fight back! Fighting back is how we learn from taking hits!
So, whoever is in favor of urging Congress of restore the $1.1 billion in federal funding for CPB, say "I!"
I wish everyone a wonderful day and to stay safe!
